The 1 metre high Bwlch y Garnedd Standing Stone stands on the old trackway between Pentrefoelas and Dyffryn Clwyd. This ancient route, only replaced by the modern road around 1830, crosses the remote and wild Mynydd Hiraethog and passes north of Llyn Brenig before descending to Denbigh via Nantglyn.
